About UA Cares

A Campaign for Community Giving

UA Cares is The University of Arizona's annual workplace giving campaign, providing UA employees with the opportunity to support UA services and programs and the broader community.

UA Cares was created in 2002 as a "combined campaign" in which employees may give to any University programs and services through the UA Foundation or to any non-profit organizations or Community Impact Areas through the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.

Since its inception in 2002, University employees have donated more than $4,300,000 to support a wealth of educational programs at UA and nonprofit programs addressing our community's greatest needs.

In addition, many departments and University areas conduct special events to raise contributions and awareness of particular charitable programs, including student scholarship funds.

UA Cares Abiding Principles:

Donor Choice
Employees are encouraged to give based on what is meaningful and relevant to them and what they see as being the most critical areas in need of their support. This may include any University program areas and/or any IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

Voluntary Giving
Employee participation is completely voluntary. Employees are encouraged to participate; however, no form of coercion is acceptable in the process of promoting and facilitating the UA Cares campaign.

Donor Privacy
Donors have a right to privacy regarding their gift if they so wish. Online giving provides a fully confidential giving option to employees.
