What is UA Cares?

Here at the University of Arizona, we take on big challenges. Our faculty, staff, and students all work to serve our community every day, whether we’re advising students, designing telescopes, or processing scholarship applications – we each Bear Down and Step Up when it matters most. That’s what UA Cares is, a series of university initiatives that enable us to pay it forward through community service and giving. Take a moment to learn about each one below and how you can join us in service to community.

Volunteer to be a UA Cares Ambassador

UA Cares Ambassadors are a vital part of each UA Cares initiative. Faculty and staff members pitch in to support one or all of our four initiatives. Check out their responsibilities below and email Nick Hilton at hilton@arizona.edu to sign up to be an advocate for our community!

  • Responsibilities:
    • Communicate regularly with your colleagues to promote UA Cares initiatives - even if it's just forwarding information! Every little bit helps us increase our impact for the community.
    • Connect our colleagues so they can pay it forward. UA Cares staff are here to help you and your colleagues take small actions that make a big difference - we can help you organize virtual lunch & learns with nonprofits, promote life-saving blood drives, and find ways to serve the community. Reach out today to pitch your idea and start receiving support.
    • Champion the UA Cares initiatives, because here at the University of Arizona, we Bear Down and Step Up when it matters most.
